More for the Japanese Collection

Several irons in the fire currently.  We are still working on the Coffee Collection and the Japanese Collection, but felt we needed a boost to the Japanese Collection beyond just the dragon (which is coming along nicely, by the way), so we decided on something a bit more whimsical and light-hearted.  We decided on "Need My Noods" with a bowl of noodles and some chopsticks.

Noodles

Anyone who knows someone who lives in Asia, eats Ramen, or simply loves noodles will probably get a kick out of this design.  It should be ready soon, but the dilemma right now is, most bowls like this have some design on them and putting a design on this one would take away from the chopstick design and the noodles themselves. so we are debating that as we continue adding the proper amount of noodles.

Look for it to be available soon.

Coffee Project Study

The next study!

While I am not abandoning my I.T. Crowd study (still working on the quotes mugs), I am going to try to focus on something a bit less niche.  I still love the I.T. Crowd and fully plan on many more designs in that study, and am slowly working on the Japanese Dragon and 2020 Astrology Wheel, it was time for something that would appeal to a larger audience, so I decided on coffee.

Personally, I hate coffee, but I have lived with enough people who saw it as sort of a religion unto itself to understand the love, yearning, draw, desire, fascination, and addiction.  It is time to reach out to those people.

Here are the first designs with many more to come.

New…New Moss Phrase Mug

Moss Quotes Mug handle left 15oz
Moss Quotes Mug front 15oz
Moss Quotes Mug handle right 15oz
Moss Quotes Mug full design view 15oz

And yet again, after mock-up images, uploaded to Instagram, I keep going back to this design and wanting to add more.  The overall design did not seem quite balanced enough, so I emphasized the word "first" a little more, I changed "sweet style" to be negative text to bring the eye over to that portion of the design more and I honestly found that I had left out the emergency services number...how can you have a Moss Quotes Mug without the emergency services number on it!?.  Maybe it is I who needs to put on their slightly larger glasses.  Either way, I really need to stop fiddling with it, so on to the Jen Quotes Mug.

New Moss Phrases Mug

Moss Phrases Mug

Chairman WOW!  Time for another Moss design.  I do not have the ability to work on these all the time, but I do so love putting things like this together.  Since this only took a day to do and would show up in the store straight away, I thought I would share it here first.

The current project study – The I.T. Crowd

At the behest of friends who are interested in seeing cult TV and film memorabilia beyond an image and the title of the show on an item, I have decided to try project studies. This means a topic will be chosen and during the study period, iconic images, quotes, moments or other memorabilia that people might be interested in displaying will be created. Hopefully, these things will not only be unique, but will also give people a chance to own something more the way they want it.

What does that mean? Well let’s use the current study theme, the iconic cult Channel 4 sitcom, The I.T. Crowd. Maybe you are happy with a t-shirt that simply says, “The I.T. Crowd” on it. Maybe though, you wish someone had recreated the “Made in Britain” fire extinguisher label, but done so in a way that it incorporates the quote given by Moss.

In case you are unfamiliar, the scene is, a fire breaks out and when Moss goes to use the fire extinguisher, it catches on fire itself. He calmly asks, “Why’s it done that?” as he inspects the canister his attention is drawn to the label which reads, “Made in Britain,” to which he dons an understanding face as he evidently believes anything made in Britain is doomed to fail to function. A funny scene right?

Maybe you want your shirt to have the quote.
Or maybe you just want the label itself.

I will do my best to add both, or in general, add as many options as I can think of, so that their is a better chance your unique style will show through via the selection you make.

I cannot give a time frame for each study, as I will continue until I feel I have explored the topic fully and am willing to move on. Obviously, this does not mean I will not revisit it, so if you are a subscriber, please feel free to contact me with suggestions you would like to see.

It’s the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock!

It seems almost impossible that the original festival will be 50 in August.  If it seems like a lifetime ago, that’s because it is.  Many of those who were there have sadly left us, but the spirit of what this gathering meant lives on.

We have decided to make available a limited run of some things that have been on our own fantasy wish lists for a long time.   Many of us who were unable to attend have tried to recapture some of the feel of that weekend by attending other events and seeing some of the performers at other venues, but nothing has scratched that itch.  Let’s face it, without Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin alone, nothing will measure up quite the same.  That is why we have decided to recreate some memorabilia that we wish could have been real.

If you have ever chased an autograph, you know how frustrating it can be.  When your five-hour stint in the pouring rain, standing outside the artist’s venue while your 8×10 gets soggier by the minute, finally ends with you being lucky enough to get your autograph, you rush to your car.  You get in to dry off and to examine your hard-fought autograph.  Excitement turns to annoyance before turning to downright disappointment as you find more of a chicken scratch than an autograph and placed in the exact worst place on the entire photograph.  Not so with our poster.

You were not allowed to collect autographs at the venue, so having something signed by all of the artists is simply a fantasy.  Well we have created just that; a fantasy Woodstock poster.  Over 80 hours of work has gone into making something we are all proud to display in our homes and something that never fails to start a conversation.

We have re-imagined the original red Woodstock poster (you know, the one with the bird and guitar neck), making just enough changes to the original design that it is now our own, but not enough to be noticeable unless you are an expert.  Then we scoured every source we could find to locate autographs of all of the band members of each of the bands.  Granted, we were unsuccessful at finding everyone, but it is certainly a treasure to have, regardless of whether it has the autograph of the guy who played the bongos or not.  We have painstakingly recreated each signature, having perused many different autographs by the same artist to find one that is clear, iconic, representative of the artist, and representative of the time (many artists have changed their signature over time).  So without further ado, we offer the Ultimate Woodstock Fantasy Poster with over 100 signatures, spread out all over the poster so that there is very little overlap, with enough variety in ink colour and pen width that it truly looks like you had it signed by all of the artists.  A truly unique item, offered as a fine art poster framed and unframed with the potential for t-shirts, beach towels and more.
